Your Personal Attorney and Counselor-at-Law

Dedicated to providing  personal and excellent legal representation  for her clients, Ms. Kennedy believes that her personal management of each matter accepted by her office and her personal availability to her clients leads to successful representation and a healthy attorney-client relationship.  Offering legal representation in a courteous, cost-effective, and ethical manner, Ms. Kennedy offers complete accessibility, high ethical standards, experience, enthusiasm, and perhaps one of the best values for the legal fees you pay.

Tara L. Kennedy is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is admitted to the Maryland State Bar, the United States District Court, Western District of Oklahoma, and the United States District Court for Maryland.  She is on the Immigration Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association.  She served as legal counsel for the nonprofit Middle Eastern American Association Immigration Service.  She has successfully argued cases before the Executive Office of Immigration Review, Board of Immigration Appeals, and Federal Court.

Experienced before the Immigration Court, Tara L. Kennedy has adjusted many respondents in removal proceedings to legal permanent residency.  Appellate experience includes not only appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals but mandamus and declaratory relief in the US District Courts.  She successfully constructed and presented an argument in federal court to allow successive writs of habeas corpus, which allowed her to secure the release of immigration detainees subject to indefinite detention.  Kennedy has developed expertise in post-conviction relief in the state of Maryland.  A creative and dedicated problem-solver, she was the first attorney in twenty four years to successfully sue the Oklahoma County Detention Center for denying a detainee the right to marry in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

We believe that informed clients are satisfied clients.
